The largest contemporary fine art event of the spring, the Toronto Art Expo is taking place April 10-13 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This show features up to 200 distinguished, established Canadian and International artists and galleries and includes art in painting, sculpture, glass and two-dimensional work. I attained a booth in the emerging artist section at the event and will be bringing all the art in the image above for display and sale. Artists from around the world have submitted an edition of 12 prints for exchange and exhibition at Arnica’s Artist Run Centre in Kamloops, BC between February 28th and April 12th. I submitted an edition of Intaglio drypoint prints titled Information Overload and received 12 different prints in exchange. Each year Queen’s Bachelor of Fine Art graduating students host an Art Auction in downtown Kingston to fund their final show. The students along with many of their professors and local artists contribute artwork to this fundraising event. Myelin Sheath is one of the donated artworks. This year’s annual BFA Art Auction will take place at Tango Nuevo (331 King St East) on Thursday March 6th at 8pm. This is a highly anticipated event that you do not want to miss! External Intercostal and Spinous Process were donated to the Kingston Canadian Film Festival Silent Auction. This auction raises funds to support the KCFF annual festival and programming. The donated artwork, along with many other items, will be on display outside the Baby Grand Theatre at 218 Princess Street between Friday February 28th and Sunday March 2nd. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the artwork will go towards funding the Queen’s BFA Final Art Show: Where the Line is Drawn.
The Sex Show 2014 at Gallery 1313 is having its Opening Reception tonight between 8pm and 10pm. Stop by and see my artwork Objectify Me along with many other artists’ interpretations of sex and sexuality.
